"TX Inhibit" is a misnomer--the function is the opposite.
Pin 8 connects to the collector of the transistor that controls the
antenna relay. In TX mode, it is LOW. and enables the active state of
the relay. If you have an amplifier whose TX control is low voltage/low
current, you can use pin 8 instead of the relay. In this case, you can
disable the relay and be rid of its clicking. Especially with
PIN-diode-switched amps, this enables quiet changover. I use this
arrangement with an Alpha 87A.
