* Filters: Two Banks in separate I.F. locations using physical filters.
* Filters can be selected in any bank in any combination with out using
software (as in the Mark Series if you want this control).
* Filters are set by the user and not taken over by mode selections (as in
the Mark Series).
* Twelve volt DC operation for flexible power source support.
* DSP in the late I.F. stages, detector and audio sections. Effectiveness
improved considerably when filters are in both I.F. banks. (same as in Mark
Series)
* True dual receivers, can mix modes between them. Only limitation is
front-in bandpass filters that affect both receivers at the same time. (same
as in Mark Series)
* Many controls spread out over a large area. Rare to go into a menu.
* Has been very reliable, zero breakdowns to date (bought new from dealer).
* Has worked well on digital modes, including ALE.
* Great front end performance, especially after putting in the popular mods.
* CW improved to with the popular CW mod kit.

Main radio concern is that when scanning under computer control, the
bandpass and front end filter banks switch in and out while scanning,
putting wear on all those relays. Thus I am using a TS-480HX for digital
operations, where when scanning in program control using split VFO mode,
those relays are not cycled like that while scanning. When it is transmit
time, the correct relay combinations are selected first.
