[1000mp] PSK31 on FT-1000MP & MENU 8.6 Easy-Set

Hi again,
Many thanks to everyone who responded with lots of advice about my query 
with running PSK31 on the FT-1000MP.

I'm thinking that purchasing a simple USB Digi-interface & cable such as the 
SignaLink or DigiMaster will suit my needs best.

The DigiMaster website says that the PACKET socket on the FT-1000MP may be 
used for PSK31 by forcing the PKT mode into USB by setting-up the USER key 
in MENU 8.6.

This should be achieved by going into MENU 8.6 and setting the EASY-SET menu 
item to SSTV. Then the PKT and USER keys are selected in sequence to force 
PKT mode into USB.

Well I've tried and tried but it wont work? :-(((

The problem seems to be that even tho' I change EASY-SET from default OFF 
to SSTV and then press ENT, it doesnt seem to accept it because when I go 
back into MENU 8.6 I find that EASY-SET has reverted back to the default OFF 
??

Am I doing something silly or does some other MENU option have to be changed 
also?
