Do you have the service manual for FT1000MP?
Is it possible to replace the 2SC2879 without to remove the board from the 
rig?

yes it was easy,  buy some super sharp nippy cutters and cut the legs off at
the center, it is easier to desolder.  Use a solder gun with dry wick and
the legs slip right off.  Don't forget to recoat the new transistors base
witha THIN coating of transfer paste.
