Hi Pete
thanks for the info,
I checked the ring (turned and wiggled it) and it didn't seem to help any. I did learn that by turning the rig off and then back on
real quickly I can make the tuning stop sometimes for up to a few mins to 10 or fifteen right now it has been sitting still for
almost 25 mins.
I also learned by turning it off and on quickly and listening real carefully when the audio comes back on after the little wait
period, that when it starts tuning by itself it also looses its filtering.
What I mean by this is you can hear a definite difference in the sound coming from the rig when the time you turn it on and it is
not tuning by itself again it sounds as though the DSP filters are working again.
When it is tuning the sound is very open and hashy as if there is not filtering in the audio (DSP??), when you turn it off and on
few times and the tuning stops and it goes back to normal operation, the DSP seems to come back in also, because the noisy sound is
suppressed again and the audio is deeper and clearer again.
Also when it starts to tune on its own, the green rx light and the tuning knob and the lights at the EDSP filters flicker to a
dimmer brightness. Then ever so often while it is tuning, the keyer tone will change on its own from 650 to 800 then back to 650
again. Sometimes it will go from 650 to 800 and then change to 700 and stay there until you change it back to 650.
As I have written this email it has stayed still for the longest time in a while, around 30 minutes. ( I type slow Hi Hi)
