[1000mp] FT-1000MP mk V CW Operation

Could anyone be as so kind as to help me understand operation on cw , The manual is not very concise, i am concerned at high ALC with power less than 150w also is there a different set up between the mark V and the mark V field as i seen a different display on the field.
I am used to lowering the carrier like on kenwood radios to get an acceptable ALC level ,There is no mention of this in the manual .maybe someone can help thanks .
