[1000mp] IPO (Intercept Point Optimization)

I AM an engineer; and one of the things we learned in engineering school was 
to read the manual. Yaesu can be faulted for being obscure on many issues, 
but in this case, it's right there on page 23 associated with an arrow, 
labeled "17" on the drawing of the front panel. Paragraph 17 reads:

"17 - IPO Button
The Intercept Point Optimization button may be used to set optimum reciever 
front end characteristics for a strong         environment. Selecting IPO 
bypasses the front end RF amplifier and feeds the recieved signals directly 
to the first mixer."

This nomenclature might well have been generated by a marketing guy, but the 
function is clear. It works well. I would rather reserve our complaints for 
real design issues; there are enough of those already.
