There is a menu item which affects the gain of the preamp for low verses
high bands. I believe the exact nomenclature is some thing like "tuned". The
result is vey little gain say on 80m so the affect of IPO is more pronounced
on 10m.

Subject: [1000mp] IPO (Intercept Point Optimization)

Hey guys pretty cute answers, but my real question was why
on the upper bands, say 10 meters, when I engage the IPO, or
turn off the front-end pre-amps is there such a huge drop in
signal compared to the lower bands. Does anyone have an
explanation for this large drop or better still what do you
see on your Mark V. Just curious?

Thanks,

Bob Martin
