[1000mp] Using FTV1000 with early FT1000MP

I have used the FT1000MKV on the FTV1000 for a few weeks and have one
grievance.
The NOISE BLANKER or lack thereof.
To quote VK5EME it does not work.
Worse than that it does not work well on very low power line noise around
S1, masking real weak signals.
The only solution is to extensively modify the Mark V and Field or go back
to using early series FT1000MP.
If you purchase and fit the FRB-5A relay unit the FT1000MP early series is
compatible with the FTV1000.
And you have two noise blankers that really work with level adjustments.

I also found a way to splice the control voltage cable into the FT100MP MKV
power lead without destroying it and now I have the MKV 200W for HF and the
old FT1000MP as an IF for 6M.
The older FT1000MP has a far superior contoured DSP which suits the 6M VHF
band.
The use of an MP MKV is an overkill on 6M IMO.

Now I have both HF and 6M covered at the same time as the FP-29 will supply
both rigs and you are unlikely to want to transmit on both at the same time.
The early 1000MP runs well of a PS-30 which matches in size and shape the
FTV1000.
And with the now muted control oscillator sitting down amongst the band edge
electronic crud at 50.000 all is well in the 6M world.
