[1000mp] Mark V Tuner

This is my understanding of how the tuner works, so if it is wrong let me
know.  You turn it on by pressing the button and the “Tuner” indicator comes
on.  Now if you press the button for ½ second it is suppose to key the
transmitter and then adjust the tuner for best SWR.  Also the “Wait” light
to the right of the “Tuner” indicator comes on.  If this is correct up to
this point how long should the “Wait” indicator stay on before it goes out,
or when should I worry?

 

Should I have an external tuner and not use the one in the Mark V?
