[1000mp] 70 MHz IF tap

Hi Hal,
I do not own an FT-1000MP. My only piece of Yaesu equipment is a Quadra.
>From the FT-1000MP block diagram: The 1st-IF bandwidth is determined by the
roofing filter (RF-Unit, XF1001/XF1002). This filter is 12.5 kHz wide, and
follows the first mixer. The IF signal at the input to XF1001 should have
the same bandwidth as the selected RF BPF (typically several MHz).
Depending on the source impedance of the 1st mixer, the signal amplitude
will change somewhat as the frequency moves across the passband of the
roofing filter.
Cheers for now, 73,
Adam VA7OJ/AB4OJ

Dear Adam,
The problem is that the 1st I-F is only 12.5Kc's wide.
A number of people have tried, I am told.
Did you find any difference?
Hal
It should be possible to tap off the 70 MHz first IF ahead of the roofing
filter. The sampling output should be buffered. This will allow connection
of your RF spectrum analyser.
