[1000mp] FT-1000 MKV, No Key

are you sure that you have not any key activated?
when you turn on the radio and the ptt is pushed  then ptt de-activated.
That is if you have mox pressed and you turn on the radio then the radio 
doesn't ptt.
So try if you have pressed mox
also ptt from microphone ( i spent an afternoon when i have pressed the ptt 
lock of the mic)
and also unplug all the cables in back side
