[1000mp] CAT Control

I am trying to set up CAT command for the first time with my new MK-V-FT-1000MP.

I have set com 1 for 4800,8,none,2
Restarted the computer.

I am trying to use Ham Radio Deluxe.

I have selected RTS(on) then DTR(on)
And also both RTS(on) and DTR(on)
I have also deselected both.

HRD tells me it can not read the frequency.

I am using a RS-232C cable from Radio Shack, according to the Radio Shack box I bought it in (on the back) it has a pin out sticker:

       8           8

Any ideas what might be wrong here?
