Tom:
Thanks for the personal telephone support on my VCO
problem! This being my first time inside a modern rig
(with surface mount), I was quite nervous, to say the
least! So naturally I broke something to get even
more edgy. Fortunately, the black plastic sleeve that
helps to attach the white ribbon cable to the PC board
was reparable with crazy glue! After visually
inspecting the solder joints on the bottom of the
card, everything seemed to look fine. Nevertheless,
it took two goes at resoldering various connections to
finally fix the problem! I'm not sure what I did, but
the rig now seems to be it's old self.
Thanks to those who pointed me in the right direction
and to Tom, W1TO, who gave such accurate instructions
on fixing the problem!
