Hello Ron:
I have not tried the module in any digital mode, but there will be some
reduction of the signal certainly. Likewise for CW, but you may find that
the larger improvement in signal to noise ratio far outweighs the few db
signal strength reduction. I think this is why some operators still like to
use the module for CW, even though it can not be used for QSK operations.
Most of the guys say that once they start using the module on SSB, they
never turn it off. Coupled with the reasonable price of the module, that is
a pretty strong endorsement for the product.
