Adam,

     Thanks, again, for the kind advice.  The images on your website will go 
a long way to my investigating this problem.

     Yes, I see the same erroneous SWR readings whether the tuner in-line or 
not.

     Can't wait for a chance to get home, take it apart, and see what's 
what.
