[1000mp] Mark-V Field receiver.......

My 2 year old Mark-V Field has failed me. It takes a signal strength of S9
or S9 +10db for the station to rise above the noise and be able to copy.
This is as compared to a TS-940 on the same antenna. This is consistent on
the main as well as the sub receiver, any band, any mode, all antenna
selections, and both antenna connectors. I think I have tried every button
there is on the radio. I have reset the microprocessor as well. The
transmitter appears to load fine and produce full output power. It has not
been intermittent at all. Once it failed, it has been consistent.
I have not dived into the radio yet. I emailed ("no phone calls please")
WA4GEG on Tuesday, but have not had a response as yet. I intend to take the
cover off and do the "Tap Tap Tap" thing on some of the relay's, etc., but
haven't done it yet.
Anyone had a similar experience or ideas of the most probable area to dig
into? I think I would prefer to not try to do any surface mount repairs on
a board. I think I will leave that to someone with the proper equipment. I
was hoping it might be a relay, since there seems to be a history of relay
problems, but most are intermittent type problems, or certain bands etc.
Ideas or suggestions appreciated.
