Hello all
You may remember my earlier message, about a problem on 15m with my
FT1000mp.
I want to say a big thank-you to all those who helped, with pointers to web
sites, with advice on well known problems and with service manual extracts.
A first round of re-soldering components around TC4003 was not successful.
However, today, after taking delivery of a new 0.5mm soldering iron bit, I
re-soldered a lot more components - all those I could imagine were
associated with that VCO and bingo! It's back to life.
It's a really good feeling to sort this one without taking it to the local
radio shop.
Thanks again
John G4ZTR

Subject: [1000mp] No rx on 15m
Hello all
I have a quick question about my FT1000mp, to which there may be a well
known answer (but not to me):-
My rig was used this weekend in IOTA. I don't use 21MHz from home, and it
became evident on site that my rig will not receive anything on 21, (nor on
18 or 24.5). I have to assume there's a relay problem in the bandpass filter
at the front end. I wonder if the cure is to change out some relays, and how
difficult that might be?
Regards
John G4ZTR
