I use my FTV/MkV almost entirely CW and it does not exhibit that behavior.
Barring somebody else more knowledgeable than me (not hard) chiming in, I'd
suggest going through all the setup steps and cable hookups again then
calling Yaesu if the problem persists. In my experience they're not usually
very helpful and just ask you to send the unit in. YMMV

Subject: [1000mp] FTV-1000 transmit lock
Dear MP and Mark V users,
I recently obtained an FTV-1000 to go with my Mark V, as I enjoy the "Magic
Band" quite a bit. Finally had an opportunity to try it out today, and when
I transmit on CW or FM mode, I notice that the transver locks in
transmission, and I have to turn the unit off to get it to stop
transmitting. This phenomenon does not occur in SSB or AM. Has anyone else
noticed this particular phenomenon, and if so, how does one eliminate this
particular phenomenon? Any thoughts and/or comments are quite welcome.
Thanks!
