Hi All.
A little addition to what you have written till now
about the Roofing Filters.
A simple solution to compare the 2 Roofing filters is
to add the Inrad with a switching relay.
It is not difficult to add this mod., and makes much
better use of  the 2 roofing widths.

Adding a second "cascaded" Roofing Filter involves lot
of technical skill as written by OE3HKL in june 2005
FunkAmateur, beside the simple put-in of the hardware.
But as me and many of us have no pro_equipments nor
pro_skill the only solution is doing a comparison with
our own ears and from short time with my simple
pan-adapter, which visually  revealed many interesting
points.

Get also the little K6SE MP_Filters program from
va3cr.net web pages.
It is a filter switcher "a-la-MP" and requires the CAT
connection to the PC.
The only simple mode to appreciate the roofing window
reduction is to switch out the ssb filters, so the
bandpass is abt 6Khz, switching in & out the 2 roofing
makes the difference audible and visible on any audio
waterfall .
