[1000mp] Strange behavior with my VRF/MEM CH Control

Mike:
I am aware of that treatment from an earlier round on the same subject. I
believe I even tried it on the clarifier. But if I recall correctly, reports
indicated that results vary widely and that spinning the shafts, far from
being a panacea, may risk damaging the unit.

Hello Garry:
I have had problems with the Clarifier encoder on my Mark V. I wanted to
avoid the change out of the encoder, so I attempted to repair the encoder
with a spinning method. It restored the encoder to proper operation. After
several years, it again began to behave erratically, and I repeated the
procedure. The clarifier is still working fine several years later, and I
have not had to repeat the process.
You can see the method here:
http://www.va3cr.net/markv/Troubleshooting/Clarifier.htm
The method has been posted on the VA3CR website. Perhaps you can try the
same procedure and see if you can clear your problem as well. I would be
most interested to hear how you make out.
73 and Happy DXing,
Mike
