[1000mp] Strange behavior with my VRF/MEM CH Control

Bob:

You'll need to get inside to the front panel.  THe VRF/Mem Channel knob is a rotary encoder.  It is the ENC-A-Unit shown on the bottom right of the schematic sheet that shows the overall block diagram.

Check solder connections, check the +5V supply to the board and encoder, and then with a scope, note the activity on the mem 1 and mem 2 lines.  It may be that the encoder itself is bad, not the switch.
