[1000mp] ext spkr jack and 1000mp original

The rear panel jacks on the radio are generally soldered to their PC
boards--not affixed to the panel. I notice that several jacks, including the
speaker jack you mention, appear to have little collars around them; these
do not appear to be threaded and may be part if those jacks--but I could be
wrong.
Jacks only held in place with a few soldered thru-holes are susceptible to
having the solder broken by inadvertent non-axial movement of the jack. This
is particularly likely if using adaptors that create a lever arm against the
jack. I had this happen with the RXIN jack, which is one of the RCA jacks. I
had used an F-to-RCA adaptor.
If this is what happened to you, you might be able to discern some movement
of the jack--it should be immobile if OK. If so, the fix requires removing
the board and resoldering the jack.
Worth investigating, at any rate.

Hello one and all...
Just wondered if anyone has experienced
intermittent connections when plugging in an external speaker to the
1000mp???
I thought my soldering skills had decayed badly because I had soldered a
new plug onto the external speaker leads, but when I plug it into the
radio the audio is non existent until I wiggle the plug. This happened
a few times until I realized that maybe I have a cold solder joint or
a broken connection on the jack itself. Anybody experience this? and
is it easy to repair??
Let me know
Thanks
