Hello Earl,
I 've got both of the radios (MP Field with Inrad Roofing Filter) and I totally agree with you. But I have two things to add.
1) The PRO's 3 receiver is more quiet, specially on low bands (I mesured the Noise Floor for two and the PRO,s 3 is better)
2) The audio from the Pro3 is not only much cleaner but and much more real approaching the human foice (sometimes like FM)
