[1000mp] Pro III -- FT1000MP comparison

Hello Tod,

I operated the FT-1000MP Mark-V and the IC-756ProII side-by-side for a
year or two.

The ProII is a very nice rig, but I used the Mark-V much more for a
couple of reasons. The sound and the ergonomics of the Mark-V are IMHO
better. The ProII sounded like metal, while the Mark-V sounds like
"music". To operate the Mark-V is a joy, especially during contests! The
menu of the Mark-V is very extended.

I sold the ProII and bought the Field with several Inrad filters,
including the Roofing Filter.

My rigs now are:

FT-1000D (still the best I have) (with Inrad IF-filters and Roofing Filter)
IC-775DSP (with Inrad IF-filters and Roofing Filter)
FT-1000MP Mark-V Field (with Icom filters and Inrad Roofing Filter)
IC-7400 (= IC-746Pro)

Of course this is all very personal. IMHO the 756-series is a nice toy,
but in several ways lacks the sound, touch and feeling of the
1000-series. Most contesters and DX-peditions use the 1000-series.
