[1000mp] 1000MP Problem

I recently bought a 1000mp and immediately installed the Inrad roofing
filter and some filters (before I tested the radio - dumb) I power up the
radio and the main frequency display displays 7285 and blinks of and on. The
audio is a slight hiss. I set the menu items without a problem. Remember
this is my first MP so could it be a set up issue?
