Hi Bob,
I chase DX and dabble in contests; run SSB and CW....
I agree with you. I normally don't say much on reflectors ; my experience
has taught me to look at the global inputs and try to make an educated
decision (like chasing DX --- Listen, Listen, and jump). I've been happy
with all of the rigs I mentioned (except the Ken 930, which the early S/N
had some bad manufacturing problems (100 watt PA board plate through holes
issue).
Don't put down CW Dxing, HI HI........ Audio; typically run receive
bandwidth from 2200 to 1800 Hz, especially with the 1800 Hz roofing filter
engaged in contesting. Really is my first rig that audio sounds great
(intelligibility) at that bandwidth. I jump on 75 mts to listen to the ole
AM rigs; brings me back to when I started ham radio in the early sixties.

Ron,
whatever rig you want to praise or condemn, whether it's a ten tec, yaesu
etc., (and this goes for everyone), it would help a great deal if you would
say what mode you operate and what kind of operating you do.
There are way too many who praise brand x to the sky, then it turns out
all their operating (which they don't mention) is cw dx chasing,
and brand x stinks for phone. Or they ragchew on phone and brand x
stinks for cw dx chasing, something they are not aware of, and so on....you
get the idea.
