[1000mp] I was barred from the ft9000-ft2000 yahoo group

I was staying away from this one but here is my two cents worth anyway.
I own Kenwood, Icom and Yaesu. I will never own any off the new top of
the line radios because they are totally priced out of my budget. From
my past experience with these radios Kenwood seems to have the least
design issues, Icom second and sorry to say Yaesu last. Of the three
brands it seems that I have the Icom 756PRO turned on more than the
1100MP. I just got a Yaesu FT100D which had the design issue of blow
transistors which I fixed. I really like the FT100D and now I find I
have it on more than the Icom but I believe this is more of a newness
issue than anything. My Kenwood is a TS-850SAT it is the radio I use
in contests. It never fails and is starting to get old. Of the three
radios it is the one I would keep if I had to sell two of them.

It is to bad that Yaesu seems to have way to many design issues because
they are basically nice radios.

I operate SSB most of the time and find that I never use very few of
the features of the radios. I do not like narrow filters and usually
let my ears do the filtering.

That is the way I have experienced it. I like them all and all the
radios above will be with me a long long time. I had added the fixes
to the 1000MP. I do need to spend more time playing with it. Mine came
without the internal power supply which sounds like that was a good
thing. I was going to see if I could find an internal Supply but after
monitoring this group decided not to.

Again just my two cents and my only post on this subject,

Ron WA0KDS
