DSP works fine as long as there are suitable roofing filters in front of
the DSP filters. The IC-7800 and FT9000 have very robust receivers, as
does the Orion. Less expensive or not, these rigs work fine. Of course,
if you do not believe DSP to be effective, then you will not like these
rigs not matter how good they are.
If the FT-2000 has a robust enough receiver, I will certainly welcome
the chance to buy a rig and then not have to buy $600-700.00 worth of
filters to make it work properly. We should keep this in mind when V/S
announces the price of the new rig, as well.
