You're misinformed ... the narrow filters work just fine in FSK (RTTY).

The RTTY mode of the FT-1000MP, Mark V and Field (as well as the FT-1000D
and FT-990) is LSB.

Set the FT-1000MP menus as follows:

   6-0   rttY-SHF     170
   6-1   rttY-POL     rEvErSE
   6-2   rttY-ton     Hi tonE
   6-4   rtY-FdSP     oFFSEt

The filters (500 Hz and 250 Hz) will be automatically centered for
operation in LSB with 2215 Hz Mark and 2295 space (Lo tonE = 1275
Mark and 1445 Space).

If for some reason you *MUST* use USB, press the RTTY button TWICE
(both the RTTY and USB buttons will light) and set menu  6-1 to nor.
Your TU or RTTY software will then need to use the HIGHER TONE for
MARK.
