Jim,

Your "stinkin" wrong when you make a comment you can't use the narrow MkV 
filters for FSK. In the FSK mode the transmitter sends out a continuous 
carrier that shifts slightly between two distinct frequencies. Because it's 
sending a continuous carrier, like CW, the Mark V uses the narror CW filters 
that are installed in the rig when the RTTY button is used. If you have no 
CW filters installed this is a moot point.

Sure AFSK works but much more involved to to keep properly set-up to prevent 
over driving. FSK is very basic with no adjustments just pure signal 
shifting slightly.

Also if you use AFSK you'll always be 2.1 khz off from spotted frequencies 
on the DX Packet cluster as most RTTY folk use FSK.
