[1000mp] Field: Strange behaviour on CW

Hello,

I just received a factory new Field and discovered a strange behaviour on CW. Running full BK-IN I get high S-meter readings between the "dot and dashes". Actually the S-meter shows 9+60dB. If I turn on NAR1 this is being reduced to 9+20dB. This actually means that I can not read my power output when xmitting like this.

If I am not running full BK-IN but via the VOX is running with a 30ms delay then I get a normal reading of the power while xmitting. However at the end of a transmission I get a "spike" on the S-meter.

I get the same behaviour on a 50Ohm dummy load as on the antenna. Low or high power does not make a difference. However low power does not give a S9+60dB reading.

I have fine receptions and my xmitted CW sounds fine, I get 100W output and I do not see this behaviour on SSB nor FM.

Any oppinions if this is a warranty issue or a setting issue?

I also discovered that the ATU can not tune my dummy load to SWR 1,0, more like 1:1,5. If I turn off the ATU then the SWR reading is 1,0 on the Field. Is this normal?

Thanks, 73's de oz5abo, Per
