[1000mp] FT1000MP and PK232 FSK connections

Ted:

I heavily modified PK232's over a decade ago to optimize them for RTTY.
Stock 232's were not really "multimode" controllers, but really had only two
modes--_VHF packet and Everything Else. Everything else included modes like
WEFAX and HF packet that required considerably more bandwidth than RTTY, so
the filters were far from optimum, the discriminator could be modified, and
there were a few other improvements as well.

What you got was a box that was competitive with the specialized RTTY boxes
of the day, such as the HAL units. But now, with soundcard S/W like MMTTY,
performance and features are far beyond what the 232 could provide, even
heavily supercharged, as mine were. The unmodified 232 is no longer even a
reasonable performer.

I can provide the requested connections. But I advise you to reconsider and
use a sound card instead.

Subject: [1000mp] FT1000MP and PK232 FSK connections

Hello to everyone,
I would like to know if someone could provide me
with the
exact cable connections (pin to pin) for hooking up a FT1000MP to a AEA
PK232 for FSK RTTY. My thoughts are that this will require connections from
both the 5 pin header and the din plug on the back of the PK232 going to the
RTTY jack on the back of the 1000MP. If someone could help me, it would be
greatly appreciated. Thanks and 73
