[1000mp] Help Troubleshooting FT-1000MP

I finally took the FT-1000MP apart to try to find out why it quite.  It 
looks like something in the PLL   LO 1 loop has quit.  LO 2 and 3 both 
are working OK.  I have not went looking for bad solder joints yet but 
expect that will be the first step.  But  if a part has failed is their 
anyone specific part that has been known to fail that might be the 
problem.  I tried to set the voltages of VCO 1 to 4  but they are all 
low and stay there no matter what the frequency.  

Any help or suggestion will be welcome. I will probably be working on 
this radio on an off most of the day  either  until I get  tired off it 
or  get interrupt to  work on something else. 

The sub-receiver works fine as does the front display.  I have tried the 
processor reset which doesn't resolve the problem.     I don't think 
this is a voltage regulator issue but  let me know your thought.
