I agree, I never use it either, watch my sig on an Hethkit SB610 and as long

Bill,

After blowing the ALC in a previous rig, I never use the ALC. I am
cognizant of how much drive I am feeding and that works for me. Just my 2
cents.

Hi;
I'm unable to adjust the ALC on my Ameritron 811 H to control the max watt
output from my transceiver. I've tried it with the audio cable running from
ext ALC on the rig to the amplifier. With the amp off I tried to "adjust"
after setting the PO to 50 watts. Nada. I tried with he amp turned on, again

nada.
some say to increase the transceiver output to 70 watts and run it into the
amp quickly and adjust the amp adjustment back down scale to whatever I want

(50 watts max). I don't trust that theory. Any experienced user that could
help me? Thanks much
