Amazing...I managed to talk to Yaesu, technical support/amateur.  They
(Jerry)
never heard of the problem in a FT-1000MP, however it seems to be a
common
problem in the 920.  The solution is to reseat the connectors and DSP
boards
and that's all.  Maybe if I just hit my rig the EDSP will come back.
Will try the
Yaesu solution next week.

Doug the problem is most likely in the DSP system which is made up of
two 
boards.  One handles the analog signals and probably the conversions to
and 
from Digital and the other is the actual DSP processor.  I've had
problems
