[1000mp] MAX232 replacement.... not a big deal.

I did the same just on last week :-((
I was lucky to have access to a hot air soldering/desoldering station and it
was really easy.
I preferred to take the full PC board out of chassis, to be free to work
without
position problems and obstacles: it's easy, fast and safer (to me), mostly
for
the bunch of capacitors all around the MAX232 chip.
Using the right temperature and fast and light hand, the replacement was
absolutely
perfect and invisible.
Optocoupling it's a must now here too!
