[1000mp] While tuningup/down the band hearing blobs FT1000MP Mark V Field

The scratchy sounds you hear as you tune the main dial is most likely  
PLL or synthesizer noise.  You should not be hearing it on the MKV.   
I never heard it on both my MKVs or MPs even with the receivers on a  
dummy load.  I do have a bit on my Drake R8A though.  If it were my  
MKV I would take the covers off and make sure all the grounds inside  
the radio are tight and the boards are screwed down tight.  Sounds  
like you may have a loose ground or bonding strap.
