[1000mp] Noise on recording

I wonder if the AF-OUT jack may be loose or otherwise not making a reliable
ground contact. I have a current condition on my MP where the RX-ANT IN jack
has a flaky ground and needs some mechanical attention.

I think the noise is coming from the MkV Field, not the computer.

I was using the AF Out jack to my computer line-in and copying Hell mode
with MixW. There was more noise on the Hell print than could be accounted
for by the receiver noise. After the QSO, I backed the RF gain down all the
way down. There was not-so-random noise on the Hell strips.

I unplugged the cable from the AF-OUT jack and the noise went away.

Next I took audio from the PSK jack to computer line-in, no noise with RF
Gain all the way down.

I'm not sure if this noise on the AF-OUT jack is common to all MkV's or just
a few, but it looks like you may have the same issue as me. I'd be
interested in results others may have.

Hi All,

I prepared a shielded interface cable with two 3.5mm stereo
male jack. (connected to MkV Field AF out and the laptop
mic-in).
I recorded a couple of clips but I found it noisy. The cable
was resoldered twice so it seems the cable is correct.

Does anyone experience the same?
