[1000mp] what I am missing?

I am trying to get on RTTY.

 

I can receive. I have cable going from computer sound card "line in" to
FT1000MP AF out.

Using MMTTY and yes, I can receive.

 

I hook up cable from sound card "line out" to MP "patch in" and just get a
carrier.

I know that the sound card can transmit RTTY because with the cable in the
"line out" card disconnected and the speakers hooked up in that spot, I hear
RTTY sound.

 

o.k. so what am I missing?
