[1000mp] New to the list and INRAD question

John I have an MP original version without the roofing filter (read on). I 
operate at K8AZ a  lot and Tom has added the roofing filter in all his MP's. 
The difference is amazing. I bought a roofing filter and will have it 
installed in my radio before contest season really gets going. A very 
worthwhile addition especially under heavy band condx and REALLY helps the 
radio on SSB as well as CW.

I am new to this list as I just bought a used FT1000MP today.  Hope it will 
be delivered friday so I have the weekend to play with it, and am really 
looking forward to it.  It looks like a top of the line HF rig.

Does the INRAD roofing filter really increase the receive performance of 
this rig?  The reviews I have read from QST and Radcomm seem to indicate so, 
but would like to hear some actual experiences with it.
