[1000mp] FT1000MP CAT control via a Ethernet Terminal Server

Hi Roger:
I'm interested in this one also.
I currently run a remote station using a TS-480HX which is located at my
office. I've use TRX for rig control and Skype for audio.
I've been experimenting with a Lantronix ETS8P serial server. It works
great with the TS-480 and my Hygain T2X rotor (with the idiom press computer
card).
My problem is getting my cw cable (the old transisotor and resistor circuit)
to operate properly. I can't get the DTR line to go low and then go high
when needed. I'm pretty sure it is in the configuration/setup of the
particular port on the Lantronix serial server.
I went back to TRX to TRX control for now of my remote station and brough
the Lantronix box home to experiment with. I've never tried contolling my
1000mp Mark V via the server. I'll hook it up this evening and let you know
if I get it working.
Which server are you using? I'm glad to know that the Winkey works, I may
have to try that in my setup. But it probably uses the DTR line which may
just continue my problems.
My goal with the Lantronix server is to have the ability to contest
remotely. N4PY's software integrates with Writelog. I'll use N4PY's
software for rig control over the net and Writelog for logging qso's and
generated the cw and ssb messages.
