[1000mp] Twofold Question

I have just adjusted my MkV for the first time and the factory setting for
Menu Item 9-1 was 14.
I have recently added the INRAD Roofing Filter and, consequently, I decided
to try Douglas' recommendation. To my ears I found a weak DX station is most
copiable at a setting of 10 or 11.
