[1000mp] Yaesu Mark V & FL-2100 Series

Ed,
Why can't you use a solid state amp with the Mark-5 ?  I got my Mark-5 last
month. I have a Ameritron ALS-600 amp that I have used for several years
with my old Paragon.  My Paragon died and my 25 year old match box is
defective. I have been told to not use the ALS-600 with the Mark-5 without a
matching unit as the Mark-5 auto tumer can't handle it.  Are you saying to
not use a solid state amp at all, regardless of outboard tuner or not ??  I
will appreciate your response.

I hear a lot of the Mark V FL 2100 combinations on the air and the ops seem
pleased.

Don't try a solid state amp with the Mark V.
