I am having problems with my 3 month old FT-1000MKV-Field. Receive
sensitivity on the main receiver drops intermittently after transmit. It seems
almost as if attenuation is present or a dirty relay contact. No panel controls
affect this. The Sub-Receiver is fine and shows full signal strength at all
times even if main sensitivity is low. If main receiver is showing 2 s-units
in this condition, sub receiver may be showing s-9. Changing antenna
positions does not help. Changing bands, while in this state does not help. I can
only return the main receiver sensitivity by bumping the transmit switch a
couple of times. This happens numerous times during a qso or during the day.

It started 2 months ago but was very intermittent. Now is happens enough
times during the day for me to have compiled a good list of symptoms and list
of things that have not effect on the problem.

I am not sure, however, if Yaesu service will have the patience to test the
radio long enough for the problem to occur or if this is an ongoing problem
and the will know what to change or repair from my symptoms list. Anyone else
had this problem??

I am sure it is not a relay problem as described in other posts because of
it happening on all bands as I change them while the problem is present.
