[1000mp] Suggestion for Roofing Filter Installation in Mark Vs

I have a suggestion for the INRAD Mark V Roofing Filter installation:

It takes a lot of heat to push those pins thru the Mark V board, and one
cannot see what happens on the bottom. To avoid applying all that heat,
I installed mine a little differently:

Rather than push those pins thru the board blind, I took small gauge
wire, made a small twisted pair, and surface-soldered them to the board.
Then, I cut the pins to shorten them, and pushed them thru the top into
the connector on the Roofing Filter. Last, I soldered the twisted pair
to those pins.

BTW: A little water-wash liquid flux works wonder. If you don't have
this for SMT, it is well worth obtaining a bottle. I use it on
everything, and water-wash when I am done. It is very aggressive; you
need to clean when done, but you can merely run it under tap water, or
blot with a Q-tip or rag. We run all of our boards underneath a
distilled water tap at work. No need for solvent.
