[1000mp] MARKV ANTENNA PORTS A & B

Sometimes my thought process gets stuck and I need your help when having
those senior moments.
 
I have a MarkV that has been modified for NB, KEYCLICKS, MAIN VFO AUDIO,
and of course, the INRAD ROOFING FILTER. The noise is getting worse,
especially on 40 mtrs so here is my question. When I VOM the ANT A PORT
am I suppose to see "CLOSE OR OPEN" ON THE CENTER CONDUCTOR TO GROUND OR
SHIELD? The VOM meter shows "CLOSED" on both A & B.
 
Do I have shunted condition somewhere especially when I modified the
various boards for the above mods?  No antennas are connected at this
time. Or is some other cable bad causing the result or did I cause 
this result when re-assembling the unit
 
Any help?
