Hi Mike,
I had a FL-7000 damaged by a nearby lightning strike and got the
nearly same response you did from Yaesu. In my case, their repair cost was
almost the used value of the amp. I contacted my insurance company and
they paid for the entire repair cost except for my deductible. The amp
came back from Yaesu and worked better than ever!
