[1000mp] ft1000 cat help

Hello FT1000 /DX4win users.

I have a ft1000 (NOT A "D" or MP)

and have recently hooked up a FIF-232 Cat interface, really nothing to do
except plug it into the radio in the CAT socket on the rear
and hook it up to the computer via a serial port

What software can i use to make sure its working.? and to control the radio.

Why i ask is that, i also use a log program called DX4win and in it when 
you select FT1000 and the com port
it gives the message.......Requires EPROM 6.0 or later

So can someone advise me on how i find this out.!

When using this Log pgm above, the radio seems to get a command from the 
cat interface
as i see the CAT light on the front of the radio blink but the radio fails 
to do anything
