I've had a couple of 1000Ds my self over the years and it's a good
rig, but the tuning resolution is 10 hz steps and it don't pull out
weak signals from noise like the 775. As for CW I'd agree, but the
the main tuning rate at 10 Khz per dial revolution makes for touchy
tuning when using sharp filters, and there's not much drag control on
the main tuning knob, plus the noisy blower caused me to send it down
the road. Did you ever pick signals out on 75 at night during storm
static with the 775? It really does an outstanding job. The rig I
like to listen to CW on in the TS-870. I think it's a very good CW rig.
